Richard L. Jahnle, M.D. is a board certified ophthalmologist specializing in cataract and lens implant surgery. He has been practicing since 1986. One of the most experienced cataract surgeons in Delaware County, Dr. Jahnle has performed over 25,000 eye surgeries. He is a comprehensive medical and surgical ophthalmologist, evaluating and treating patients with cataracts, glaucoma, diabetes, age related eye diseases and numerous other eye conditions.
Dr. Jahnle grew up in Havertown. He graduated summa cum laude from St. Joseph’s University. He attended Jefferson Medical College where he graduated with honors, having been elected to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha honor society.
Dr. Jahnle completed his ophthalmology residency at The Wills Eye Hospital where he was selected Chief Resident in his senior year. He was an active member of the teaching service in the cataract and primary eye care service at Wills Eye Hospital for ten years.
Dr. Jahnle is a founding partner and board member of the Crozer-Keystone Surgery Center at Haverford. He is an attending surgeon at Riddle Memorial Hospital and is on the courtesy staff at Bryn Mawr Hospital. He is a diplomat of the American Board of Ophthalmology and a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Among his professional affiliations are the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the Wills Eye Hospital Society, the Pennsylvania Academy of Ophthalmology, and the Greater Philadelphia Ophthalmology Society. He is a Main Line Today magazine “Top Doc” award winner.
Dr. Jahnle and his wife live in Radnor township and have four adult children. Dr. Jahnle enjoys sports and coached recreation league basketball, baseball and softball for years. He enjoys music, art and architecture.
