The Importance of Eye Exams at Every Age

Did you know that the frequency of eye exams differs depending on your age? Regular eye exams are important for maintaining your vision and overall eye health. Here is a guide on how often our doctors recommend you get an eye check:

Children and Teenagers: Every 1 to 2 years beginning at age 6

Adults (Ages 20-39): Every 2 to 3 years. If you wear glasses, every 2 years is a good rule of thumb to see if your prescription has changed. If you wear contact lenses, once per year is advised to ensure a proper fit.

Adults (Ages 40-64): Every 2 years, and annually for those with existing eye conditions or risk factors

Adults (Ages 65 and older): Every year to monitor age-related conditions like cataracts, macular degeneration, and glaucoma.

Regular eye exams can detect potential issues early on, allowing for timely treatment to help preserve your vision. Click here to schedule an eye exam with one of our doctors!
